Hundreds of years after the planet began it’s detox from war, pollution, & money, Humans resurfaced from their nuclear safe-rooms. The planet they once knew was forever changed, the landscape, sea, wildlife, all had adapted, mutating from a long forgotten memory. Education had been taught through books & videos, but that was of the “Old World”, what rubble & structures still stood were scavenged for materials. Anything salvaged was immediately put use to technology, & any form of communicating & defending themselves from the unfriendly creatures that roamed the lands they had just only begun to discover. Attacking defenseless groups, people began to fear salvaging anything in the wild.   A new adaptation to the geology of the planet were highly energized, “mana” deposits, scattered throughout the lands, & affecting the very nature of the surrounding areas. As always the learning curve with adapting to the aggressive wildlife was harsh at first. Losses were significant, & fear began to spread through the dwindling population, so parents were encouraged. The new generations of Humans began to express abilities, magical Arts, that had begun to develop in different offspring in the lands. It was decided that they would ban together, helping one another survive & taught their magical endowed children how to use their gifts. The new hope was combining magic & technology to survive. There was a placement system that was influenced by an individual’s strengths & weaknesses that put into place, directly influencing a user’s Art abilities as well. And so Human’s survived, building a strong enough defense to thrive for a time.   A few generations after, civilization grew, but so did the hunger for power, wealth, & fame. With better defenses, alarm systems, medicine, & technology helping civilization be on the top of the food chain, there was, as in any system, a distribution of power & wealth. A new Class system was created to publicly rank citizens based on their magical abilities, & those passed down through generations. The information on those abilities were under protection of the government whom very closely kept tabs on all "Casters", giving them a priority of attention based on the government’s own goals.   The leaders of each sector were treated like royalty, given too much power, which ultimately led to the inner corruption that plagued the lands & it’s people. Each leader was given a chess piece title, as well as their royal guard. They also hand-picked Enforcers. Enforcers whom were powerful Casters that used their abilities to enforce their leaders rules. This is the story of the first Caster of his kind, with a Dark-type, & the burdens he faces, the change he undergoes, & the decisions he makes.
