Path to Darkness

The oldest memory of the people is war. The battle between the light and the dark. At first this battle was just between the entities neither of the two wanting to put the life in harms way. At least that is what the light thought.   Behind the lights back darkness began recruiting life to serve it on the battle field, turning peaceful creatures into powerful beasts. It compelled them with great power, night vision, claws teeth and an insatiable blood lust. Humans almost joined the darkness but, being ever cunning, decided to instead hear what the light would have to offer.   In self defence light granted humans the ability to control its physical manifestation (fire) as well as great strategic minds and an unrivalled intellect.   So the war continued, now with casualties of life on both sides. Over several hundred years both sides slowly wore each other down until the moment of what would be the final battle arrived.   Just before the battle commenced a strange being appeared, neither human nor beast. Some strange combination of the two.This person/beast would eventually be known as the Half Breed, one who would serve to negotiate the peace treaty between the light and the dark.
