Session Four: Into the Emerald Forest Report

General Summary

A few hours after beginning their journey into the Emerald Forest, the Pastoria pals found themselves face to face with bandits. These were no ordinary bandits. This was the The New Witch Gang, a group of masked adventuring teens with color coordinated costumes.    In what can only barely could be called a battle, the Pals were able to put three of the group to sleep, scare one of them to the point of sphincter release, promise another alcohol, and disarm their leader.   Eventually, Daretti was able to deduce that this group must be from the orphanage that burnt down in Verdantport,  Miss Rosalie's. After wiping her tears, their leader, Chloe led them to the settlement they have begun to build for themselves, Fort Witchwood.   The Pals spent the evening teaching various skills to the urchins in Fort Witchwood. Night came, and while Erastus regaled the group with the stories of heroes who worship Monlo, Malth felt that something was off. He decided to take first watch with Moss and Tomas, two of the residents of Fort Witchwood. Some time into his watch he heard something from outside of the fort and asked Moss to follow him, while Tomas stayed near the entrance.    After wandering some distance away, he heard the cries of Tomas. It sounded as if he had followed Moss and Malth into the forest. Fearing the worst, Malth and Moss returned to find a horrifying sight. Tomas' innards was strewn about for the world to see. It appeared as if some of his organs had been removed. What looked like Elk tracks led to and from the body.   The two quickly covered up the body so as not to cause alarm by the sight to others and alerted the Pals and Chloe to the danger. Chloe and her team gathered everyone into the main cabin to stay safe while the Pals decided to pursue whatever this monstrosity was.   The Pals found themselves in a clearing facing a gruesome beast that looked like evil twisted into the shape of a elk-like humanoid. Some of the group had heard tales of The Wendigo, a tribe of evil, cannibalistic Manitober that wandered the Emerald Forest and there they were, face to face with one of those creatures. After a dangerous battle that left Erastust mortally injured, the group made their way back to Fort Witchwood to recover.   It is the 11th of Shine and Fort Witchwood is a half a day's travel behind the party at this point. Who knows what other horrors The Emerald Forest has in store for our group of would-be heroes?
