Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Xalatl with large variety of colors are usually preferred as life partners but Toads are the only one who simply look for the strongest and largest mate.

Gender Ideals

Since 75% of the population is comprised of male Xalatlans the importance of females has been in the core of their ethnicity. Females have. Because of this most females have more than one mates at the same time and jealousy is not very present between the males. It is not unusual to see two mates of a female become very close friends.

Courtship Ideals

It is know throughout the Pact of the Scales that the females are the ones actively looking for a mate through the larger percentage of masculine Amphibians. When a female is interested she gives them an invitation to the partners she wants to come and compete for her love. She chose tasks that the males must accomplish to prove themselves usually ranging from hand to hand combat, signing and dancing. A female may chose more than one partner once the trials are done but it is shunned upon to have more than three. The females produce eggs that are distributed between her mates who each take care of their children.
