Partha

1300-1400 AC

Created by

There is no such thing as perfection or peace. Those who strive for either will be driven to madness in their pursuit. The only thing we can seek is balance. Good and evil, chaos and order, life and death. None can live without the other, and our world is proof of that.

What is Partha?

Partha is a place of curiosity and chaos. It is a nexus world that sits between four major realms of existence and its people have spent centuries trying to learn to live together and tame the confusing lands - but peace is never an easy thing.   Partha is comprised of three major continents - Erastur, Agecia, and The Wildlands - and ten intelligent races. This breaks down into dozens of cultures, religions, factions, territories, creatures and more. There are four major magic systems, and Partha's people are often torn between science and magic.   This is a place of detail and complexity, where its denizens are faced with a bevy of choices and challenges from the world and cultures around them. While Partha itself might be a small world in comparison to its much larger and older siblings, it is a place of cultural, magical, and scientific wonder.   The term Partha originated from a Kan'ali phrase ("Patru alir”) meaning ‘Part of All.’ The phrase, originally shortened and adopted by the Ærilian people, became a widely accepted name for the new world formed from The Clash: a new world that is ‘Part of All’ realms.

Why it Exists

Novels
Partha is a world originally created as a setting for a long series of novels currently in the works. There is currently no estimation on when any of the novels will be completed or published, as I have a desire to finish writing the series before publishing it.   The primary novel series will be called the “Champions of Partha.” These novels will take place between 1300-1400 AC (After the Clash), and follow characters leading up to certain major events in Partha’s history. This is currently estimated to be 4-5 books long and will tell the story of a major shift in Partha’s social, cultural, and territorial structure.
Roleplay
The more I have worked on Partha, the more I wanted to share this world with others. As an avid Roleplayer, the entire reason I brought Partha to World Anvil was to introduce it as a world for tabletop and text-based roleplay.   I am not shy to let others ‘play with my toys’ as it were. I have worked so hard to breathe life into Partha, it would only bring me joy to see anyone else enjoy it enough to want to RP in some way in this world.
Tabletop
Currently there are no tabletop sheets for Partha, as I am actually not a tabletop player. However I do have plans in the future to introduce tabletop stat sheets to many of the Partha pages for anyone who might want to use it for their tabletop campaigns.

Quick Info

Places
As a planet, Partha is small by comparison. What it lacks in size, however, it makes up for in wonder. With so many different people from different realms and backgrounds with access to tools, resources, and technology previously unavailable, there is so much to explore and do in this world.
Gods
Two primary gods rule over Partha. The Mother of Chaos and The Father of Order bring life, wonder, and danger to the world. The Mother is often viewed as freespirited and reckless, while the Father is strict and regimented. Others still cling to their old gods from their home realm.
Magic
Partha is a world known for its magic, boasting four separate magic systems. Each system has its own rules and culture, from the most common (Ærilian Magic) to the most obtuse (Drömiri Magic). Magic is a natural part of Partha’s setting, however don’t think that there’s no place for technology…
Not everyone loves magic as much as the Aerilians. Many in Partha have a natural and, perhaps, understandable fear of magic. For those who shy away from magic, they often lean towards technology. Steam and crystal tech are becoming rising trends, especially in western Erastur where many humans from Earth settled after the Clash.
Races
Four worlds came together as one, and with it were the primary races of each world. From the industrious humans of Earth to the battle-worn ways of the Kan’ali, there are so many races and cultures to explore. Every race has its own sub-races and among those, their own cultures.
Creatures
It’s not just the people that are varied in this world. A diverse cast of animals fill the land, from the curious Graff to the terrifying Bas'iik and more. Animals are a natural and major part of Partha and its ecosystems. Be careful though, just because it looks fluffy doesn’t mean it won’t bite!
