Realm 8: Rising Highlands
A set of five unique islands float in the sky far about the highlands below. Each connected by Gondola Lifts, Air Skiffs, and Hot Air Balloons. The islands are inhabited by Gnomes, a very whimsical, curious, and joyful race of folk.
Geography
Each island has jagged edges which have smoothed over time, showing that at one point they were ripped from the very land beneath them.
The center island has a "Never-ending-Waterfall," which pours to a lake filled crater surrounded by a dense jungle a mile or so below it.
Beyond that, scattered craters make up the rest of the highlands, and even a debris field where presumably a sixth island may have crashed into the ground long ago.
Natural Resources
Because the floating islands were pulled from the very land below, mineral and metal deposits are quite commonly found when digging. One such island even has a copper-mine, which is refined and used to make copper wire, an excellent conductor for Gnomish Inventors.
The highlands below is rich in the same sense, but also contains a swamp, jungle, and a mix of open highlands giving way to a diversity of life and resources.
