The Knights of Dawn
Fiery guardians of the land
With daybreak comes safety. With the Knights of Dawn comes protection.A knightly order dedicated to the protection of civilians and the elimination of monsters. Channelers are often recruited as paladins, exclusively those with light and flame magic. Though similar to the Merlonic order, they have a more aggressive methodology. They do not see eye to eye with the Merlonic Order, as where the Order would fortify a village, the Knights of Dawn would just eliminate any dangers. Armed with light and fire magic, paladins are an adequate response to all but the most powerful of threats. These paladins are some of the most powerful defenders of civilians, second only to Merlonic knights. Almost every town under the Knights' protection has at least one paladin, with most day to day threats being handled by the ordinary members.
History
Evidence of the Knights of Dawn extends back to before the Days of Dawn. The earliest form, known as Dawn Bringers, has no known founding date, and consisted of Channelers who were gifted power by the Great Phoenix. Over time their armor has evolved, from simple dyed cloth robes, to the armored flame-retardant materials of today. Over time the organization has also expanded, starting with solely Channelers, up to the present day vast forces of Squires and common Knights.
The Knights of Dusk seem to have split from the Knights of Dawn sometime after the Great Calamity. Those who founded Dusk did so because they believed that rather than simply dying, the Great Phoenix had forsaken them. These individuals are known by Dawn as heretics, and are always killed on sight.

Clear and easy to understand. The extra link to channelers and others makes the whole article feel complete, i got curious of the channelers on how they'd get their magic. Do they protect artifacts from the phoenix they worship, or maybe such trinkets became inactive after the assumed death of it ? Happy Summercamp !
Well, being Channelers, they don't really have artifacts. Modern day Knights of Dawn are granted their powers by the Heralds of Flame, which is a group of deities who act on the Phoenix's behalf in its absence.
