Brahmaur

APPEARANCE

Brahmaur are powerfully built human-like folk with the head of a bull or cow, depending whether they are male or female.       Both have short forward curving horns.       Their skin is cowhide that is black, brown, red, or white.       A tufted tail makes for a great fly swatter while their strong cloven hooves never crack or break.       A brahmaur typically stands seven feet tall and weighs four hundred pounds.       This is smaller than their parentage but is a clear sign to all that they are free of the demon blood.

HISTORY

Brahmaur became a people when the god T'Ar taught them how to supress their demon blood, which turned them into murderous, carnivorous beasts.   This happened in Valley of Salvation.   Within the valley isThe Treaty Tree.

LIFESTYLE

All brahmaur are taught to use a healer's kit.   For sicknesses, poisonings, and truly terrible injuries brahmaurs grow gold-cap mushrooms, which are difficult to grow and only a rare few develope the proper sheen that makes them effective.   These mushrooms are made into Gold Cap Tonics.   How this is possible no one knows, thoguh the Brahmaur swear they are a gift from T'Ar.   Most healing takes place at a Naos of T'Ar.   The brahmaur who dont work the farms or grow mushrooms, work the forges or work to build their tors upon hills or a mountain and often extend into them.   These tors are complex mazes above and below ground.   The Brahmaur find these comforting.   The greatest holiday of the Brahmaur is the Festival of the Moon, where they not only celbrate T'Ar, but the Treaty Tree as well.   The brahmaur await for the mysterious Dusk of Magic.

TRAITS

A brahmaur is dedicated to his or her tribe.   A wrong done to one brahmaur is a wrong done to the whole tribe.   They are also very territorial and will fight to the death to defend their hill or mountain tors.   When fighting, a brahmaur fights with a savage intensity that is both impressive and terrifying to see.   Brahmaur love mazes.   Paths about their territories criss-cross and twist and turn like a maze without a single road sign.   Some brahmaur are not content to live their lives in their tribal tor.   Instead, they wander the world in search of combat, glory, and fortune.   A brahmaur is considered an adult at 16 years old.   When they turn 16, they are given a Sprout of the Horns.   They live to be about 80 years old.

ABILITIES

Even without their demon blood, a brahmaur can see well in the dark.   They will never forget any path they have travelled.   They are immune to all but radiant (god) magic.   A wonderful gift that is not perfect as it does not allow beneficial magics to aid them, either.   Casting magic can never be learned though they can learn to use magical objects activated by spoken words.   This is only useful if the object does things other than aiding its user.   However, if a Brahmaur ever willingly eats meat, cooked or raw, they will release their demon blood.   With the demon blood released they turn into murderous carnivorous monsters.   Those who fall victim to Foulbane
