Pangaea

A gods testing ground, Pangaea was created 3,000 years ago by a god that wanted to test its power before moving on, this resulted in a chaotic mess of a world. After filling the world with strange and half done plants, animals and vicious monsters, this god went on to create three intelligent species.   First came the Angels, perfect long lived beings that glowed with this gods power, at first the god thought the Angels where the culmination of its work and was prepared to leave the world to them. But the god soon realized they had been made too perfect, for they began to rationalize that they were never going to be more perfect and so their civilization began to stagnate before it could even start. So the god moved on to create another species to try and perfect the design.   Next came the Demons, god thought that the Angels were too concerned with remaining just as they were made and tried to develop a creature that was prone to and wanted to constantly change. At first it seemed to go well, but then different kinds of Demons began to be born, dozens if not hundreds of different variations of Demons came into existence and they all began to fight for control over each other, most of these variations died out and evolution took over and the initial boom of different species trickled to only one new variation every few years. The fighting caused the Demons to devolve into little more than monsters in order to get an edge in the fighting, and so the god moved on again.   This god thought that the Angels were too stagnant and the Demons were to volatile, so he combined traits from each other to create one more species, the god thought they had finally got it right when they created Humans and again prepared to leave, but again this new species proved it was not perfect, in fact when creating Humans the god had made a species that had the best and worst traits of Angels and Demons, both stuck in their ways and always improving, volatile and rational at the same time. So god decided to move on and try again, but the world was already full and they couldn't destroy their creations, so they moved on to create another world and continue to try and make the perfect species, leaving their creations to survive or be destroyed.
