Luth {summer solstice} (Λουθ)

Where?

Luth is the cherished celebration of the _____ Nation. It goes on for 4 Days. Two to happen on the longest day of the year whilst the other two are to prepare and relax after it. The whole purpose is to not waste any daylight hours and to make the most out of the long hours granted to us by the Rune of Solaris.

Day 1

Day 1 is the day before the longest day also known to you as the summer solstice. On this day most people will stay in and not do a single thing; the most anyone does is walk from their bedroom to the kitchen and back. You may call them lazy whereas we call this energy reserving and getting ready to work as hard as ever for the next 2 days.

When the sun of Solaris shines. I can do anything; no mountain is too high, no trouble too difficult to overcome.

Days 2-3

These two days are when everyone gets to work. Either helping stock the village reserves, helping finally build the house that was destroyed, going fishing, gathering and any other jobs you could do to benefit the village/town you live in. The 2nd to 3rd days of Luth are ones of unison and care between the people of Pandorica where nations may work as teams to accomplish things that would've taken days or weeks to do , in less than a few hours. People who are excluded from the festivities are children under the age of 7, expecting mothers, and anyone who is incapable of achieving anything due to medical reasons. Yes, this means you often see 90-year-olds lifting logs and plastering up walls, t'is an odd site.

The only problem, I have found, to Luth. Is the fact that by the end of the 3rd-day lots of people can't stand on their own two feet or start showing signs of sleep deprivation. Which is why it is crucial to assign a Sleep walker. A Sleep walker's job is to go around and shove people into their homes in bed when they notice that they've done enough. They are the only people in the whole of Pandorica, apart from those mentioned above, to be allowed to sleep at any time during Luth's 2nd and 3rd days. Sleep walker's often enlisted the help of those excluded from the celebrations, mostly 6-year-olds, to help them wrangle up all those who try to sneak past them and keep on working.

Day 4

After some rest, those expecting or those excluded from having to work during Luth come together and organize a dusk celebration. It is always at dusk to show people that the Two-day sun has finally gone and that they can relax. Somehow most people are up for the dancing and partying that comes with the 4th day but do not be surprised if some do not come out of their houses until after a full day of rest. The official colors of these celebrations are hues of oranges and pinks being the most prominent in people's designs and clothes.

The sun will rise and set regardless. What we choose to do with the light while it's here is up to us.

History

It began by the first settlers in Pandorica. As when they first arrived they had many jobs and things to do and as time went on and cities were build it was changed to become an omage to those people who first created our cities.

Execution

The only thing signified in Luth is the thankfulness of the Rune of Solaris and all it has done for the people of Pandorica.

Participants

+ Everyone above the age of 6 and those without medical problems are expected to take part. + A Sleep walker is assigned to get people into bed when they see the strain start to take over.

Observance

Takes place on what we'd call the summer solstice except the sun lasts for 2 day a bit like midsummer
