Wulgol
One of the world's heaviest and longest snakes, it almost looks like any other Nimpogol, but on a much larger scale and with a single amber colored horn protruding from its snout. This creature's venomous bite makes it a great threat to anything that could fit in its mouth. And its ability to heal from nearly any injury, even re-growing from a severed head, makes this Beast particularly formidable.
It lives in swamps, marshes, and slow-moving streams, mainly in the mixed forest of the river basin. It is cumbersome on land, but stealthy and sleek in the water. Its' eyes and nasal openings are on top of its head, allowing it to lie in wait for prey while remaining nearly completely submerged. Straddling the coasts, it makes its way from Esborea to Opreunox. Often lurking around the Arresadi River.
Primarily aquatic, it eats a wide variety of prey, almost anything it can manage to overpower, including fish, amphibians, birds, a variety of mammals, and other reptiles. Particularly large Nimpogol may consume large prey such as pigs, deer, goats, and alligators, but such large meals are not regularly consumed. Being primarily nocturnal, they tend to spend most of their life in or around water. They have the potential to reach high speeds when swimming. And tend to float beneath the surface of the water with their snouts above the surface. When prey passes by or stops to drink, the Nimpogol strikes (without eating or swallowing it) and coils around it with its body. It waits for its venom to render the prey unconscious, then it swallows it whole.
Physical Description
Body Features
The color pattern consists of a deep green background overlaid with brown blotches along the length of the body.
Facial Features
The head is narrow compared to the body, usually with distinctive red-orange striping on either side. The eyes are set high on the head, allowing the snake to see out of the water while swimming without exposing its body. The horn helps to part the water as it swims, greatly increasing its speed.
Special abilities
- Strong venom in its fangs will burn its victims from the inside out as their blood coagulates within hours of the bite.
- Can see vita points when empowered and threading.
- Can heal from nearly any wound, except burning, and even regrow its body and tail.
- Projects visions of itself hiding in bushes to the unprotected mind.
- Has a fear aura that can instill a sense of terror in any being it stares at.
