The Great Berahjrl (a.k.a. Tree Shaker)

A well known greater beast, this monster roams the Bragdusla forest in the warmer months, fattening itself up for the long winter to come. Many body characteristics are adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice and open water, and for hunting seals and deer, which make up most of the meat in its diet. He is an opportunistic omnivore that consumes more plant than animal matter, eating anything from leaves, roots, and berries to insects, carrion, fresh meat, and fish, and has a digestive system and teeth adapted to such a diet. During hibernation, his metabolism slows down, his body temperature decreases slightly, and his heart rate slows. He has been seen wandering the forest as the snows melt for the last 100 thaws.

Physical Description

Body Features

Large quadrupedal ursine body with stocky legs, long snout, small rounded ears, shaggy hair, paws with five nonretractile claws, and four medium length tails. Despite its heavy build and awkward gait, it is an adept runner, climber, and swimmer. Uses shelters, such as caves and logs, as his dens; mostly occupies a den during the winter for a long period of hibernation, up to 100 days.

Special abilities

His strength and durability are greater than average, with elongated claws that can sheer through armor and shields. With fur like iron and layers of fat to cushion blows, he is a very physical threat. His roar has concussive force that can repel larger creatures and injure the small. And he can see the threads of vita and track them to areas full of life, thus always ensuring that he has a meal when hungry.
