The Shadowfel

Unlike most of the other planes, the Shadowful is a desolate place, with little movement. Some draw power from the plane itself, but no beings dwell here, though the landscape is littered with bones and inanimate piles that might have once been creatures. However, such sights are usually glimpsed only briefly, because lingering here tends to make you dead, one way or another.
It is said that souls used to pass through here, when the God of Death still sifted through souls, before sending them to their proper place, but Somnus takes souls to their rest now, and the only things that pass through here now are travelers from the Material Plane.
