Adar (Elves)

The Adar (pronounced: ah-DAR), more commonly known as the Elves.   Elves are a people who devote themselves and their many years of life towards nature and magic, beauty and creativity, bow and blade, and the many opportunities to refine their knowledge of the world around them.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Elves are a race of ethereal beauty and unearthly grace, who appear hauntingly beautiful to humans and members of many other races. Their most noticeable physical traits are their sharp features and pointed ears. They range from about 150 to a little over 180 centimeters tall, and have slender builds and lithe forms. Because of their slender and lithe forms, an adult elf weighs between 40 and 60 kilograms. Height and weight do not different between male and female elves.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves reach physical maturity at the age of 20 and intellectual maturity at 100, and can live up to 1000 years. Since elves age slower than humans, every 100 years after their 20th year, they will physically age about 16 years.
Their ideas and notions of adulthood vary widely from humans, with the elves having two types of maturity: Tor'belas; and Tar'alyr. Tor'belas (pronounced: tor-bel-lahs) refers to physical maturity, the age at which an elf is fully grown, into biological adulthood. And Tar'alyr (pronounced: tar-al-lir) refers to intellectual maturity, the age at which an elf has thoroughly studied and learned the intricate aspects of the world, enough so that they may be considered adults.

Like humans, elves can survive in almost any environment and climate, but their favored habitat depends on the subrace of the elf.

Common Dress Code

They favour light, easy to move in clothing usually made of silk or other light materials. They also wear expensive accessories of elegant design, and jewellery made of precious metals and gemstones.
A common elvish accessory is the ear cuff, ornate pieces of thin, precious metals that follow the helix of the ear.

Elves are a prideful, seclusive and aloof people who tend to view other races with disinterest, apathy and/or contempt. So they lean towards the neutral axis of good vs. evil.

Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 30 metres of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.   Fey Ancestry
