Jovirencei
The Jovirencei are the people native to Jovirenia. They are notable for their devotion to their homeland, and to its aesthetic. While technology levels in the country might fluctuate, the overall appearance maintained is one of a semi-medieval era.
It is theoretical, of course, but it is a common assumption that the myth of Sleeping Beauty originated from these people, as they have an unusual obsession with roses. The proliferation of the plant and the many unusual varieties have led to any number of thorny hedgerows growing across the countryside, many of them surrounding various castles. Whether the story is true or not, the Jovirencei have embraced the rose as their symbol.
As one might suspect upon learning about the vibrant landscape of Jovirenia, these people have an obsession with the colors red and purple. They are common colors used for window sills and doors. Not much for clothing, as it would essentially mean camouflaging everyone, but their houses typically have touches to match.
To have any kind of a red sky, whether morning or night, is considered good luck to these people.
Culture
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
With a large number of electrical storms occurring in their homeland, the Jovirencei have become masterful meteorologists, able to predict the weather up to a month away.
They're also masterful ritualists, and many Jovirencei have side hobbies standing in at ancient ceremonies of power that involve large amounts of lightning. They are entirely comfortable with it. The majority of them don't consider the storms to be particularly special, but all of them know the proper rites to collect lightning in a bottle.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Red hair is considered if not beautiful then at least exceptional in this country. They are remarkably particular about what qualifies as red hair, and what many of the modern era would consider red, these people would call orange, and thus not so spectacular. It is a common practice for the Jovirencei to dye their hair red, particularly in the upper echelons of society.
