A blue glow illuminates the atmosphere as each day begins with a rising blue sun. A yellow sun follows behind and gives chase, only to come up short every evening as the horizon gives way to radiant blue hues.

Beneath the two suns dance of color across the skies, you find a world that has run out of magic. A council now manages the small traces of magic that remain in the world. The leaders have learned a way to harness the power from great elementals and create stones from that power they can use in place of magic.

Over time, the lack of real magic has taken a toll on the lands and they are spreading out looking to find a way to cultivate their land again and restore it's vitality.

With these stones they are harnessing, technology has boomed because sources of magic are now itemized instead of harnessed by individuals. Think steampunk, but with ranges of powerful stones instead of steam.

100 Years Later

After the events in the year 351 of the unknown group, who took it upon themselves to collect the five souls of the old dragon gods, the world has changed. Magic has returned to the land, and with that a race to power. Many of the people who grew up when the uprising first started had taken to studying the changes in the world. They found ways to channel this new power and control it through a series of words, gestures, and materials. Others, who were born after the return of magic, are said to be blessed with the gift. These “children of magic” are seen as being touched by the gods and some were even worshiped as such. Monuments and alters have been build in their honor, but their reign didn’t last.

As time went on, a particular group of the children came together in a faction to be above all others. Calling themselves the Revenant, they formed in the year 376. Known now as The Year of the Rising, the Revenant formed to bring a registry for magic users. They control the distribution of these people to keep the all the lands equal, so no nation can rise above another due to their force of magic. Times for the lands were peaceful until 399, when an open rebellion erupted within Kolos. This once charred and scared region, flourished with the return of magic. Verin was destroyed in the Giants war. Half the city now lays in ruin while the other have has been abandoned for decades following the war. Much of Kolos has been altered in dramatic ways as now a giant rift has cracked the region in half. This rift is 50 miles wide at its peak and the true depth is unknown. The surrounding forests blossomed into lush rainforests and animal life thrived. This created the perfect cover for a specific rebellion groups, the Winter Wolves.

Much of Kolos has been altered in dramatic ways as now a colossal rift has cracked the region in half. This rift is 50 miles wide at its peak and the true depth is unknown. The surrounding lands are now covered in lush rainforest, creating an environment for animal and plant life to flourish in the area.

With the opening of the chasm, caused access from the work under the surface of Outer World to come top side. Many new creatures and races have surfaced over these years. A specific group of deep dwarves, known as Duregar, made their way across the Kolos plains and founded the city of Mulrim within the mountain range separating Kolos and Umbra.

A few other cities were hit by the destruction and Verin and the fall of the Dragon Masters. Most notable is the trade city of Twin-Rivers Point, known to be the trade center between Verin and New Auris. With the recent fall of standardized law in the lands, Twin-Rivers Point has become a hub for criminal activity within the lower continent.

Within the region of Umbra, Silver Falls has boomed with the return of magic and the fall of Verin. Now the technology leaders of the southern continent. They have found new and innovative ways to hardness the powers of the stones, now referred to as Dragon Stones. Through much research and development, artificers and tinkers have developed new Warforge models to stand as guards, house keepers, and transport hosts. Silver Falls has become the richest city of all of the lands, and is now home to the group known as Revenant. Led by the Arch Wizard Xyrtris, Revenant has taken control of the city and led them to prosperity through the latest troubling times.

As Revenant gained traction across Silver Falls and the rest of Umbra, their vision was not seen by everyone as positive. Revenant’s goal is to register all known magic users to create an equal distribution of users. Their view is that if one nation were to have more children of magic than another, it could cause an uprising, thus resulting is war of nations. As the optional registrations started to become required in most major cities, the people began to rebel against the view of being documented and moved to other regions and cities.

A few notable rebellious groups became open in their fight against Revenant hierarchy. Among them are Winter Wolves, Levant Guard, and Ravens. Each group came together to form a pact of helping one another in a tactful strategy to reduce the influence of Revenant and their impact across the lands. Over the years, tensions between the factions has been steadily rising as Revenant influence has become higher than ever.
