Got to remember to use that some are loyal to the bigger picture rather than a single part of it. That alone is already a conflict that can have great impact.
Birds are cool. Just imagine how useful a well-trained bird can be when dealing with vicious grounded Beasts.
The most crucial jobs sometimes are treated like dirt. Remember that, not everyone will get the respect they deserve.
If you have a decent public system set up, you decrease how much people depend on the private system. A great powermove to weaken an exploitative market.
There is no such thing as safe travels. Always remember to prepare for being robbed. And with any vehicle, think first 'how can this be used in war'. The people in your world will have thought about that.
Consider using your enemy's weapons against them. Remember, the Dutch sold cannons to the Spanish and used their profits to make better cannons to use against said Spanish. People are clever tricksters like that.
When dealing with lost technology, ask yourself first: Why did this get lost? What precautions should I take?
Just because people can't directly use a resource, doesn't mean they won't figure out a way to profit of it. People's ingenuity knows no bounds, remember that.
Don't be foolish enough to assume that current civilization can't learn a lesson or two from previous ones.
