Royal Crypt

Deep under the Royal Palace, past multiple basement floors, lies the Royal Crypt. Its entrance is barred by two sequential massive iron gates, each engraved with ancient runes and radiating a powerful Positive aura. The walls and doors inside are all engraved with runes as well, which heavily resemble the runes at the Capital Cemetery.   Unlike the rest of the palace, the crypt appears entirely undamaged. Its dwarven masonry stands untouched by whatever caused the damage to both palace and capital. Only one thing taints its beautiful and simplistic design: All the in-use stone coffins have been crudely sealed with lead.   The crypt has a total of 25 chambers, plus room for further expansion. 18 of them are currently in use, with six coffins per chamber. Each coffin is accompanied by mosaics that tell the stories of those contained within, as well as paintings of them in death. Supposedly the paintings show their personal possessions that were buried with them, but at this point none of the coffins have been opened to verify this theory.
