Our Terrible Fate

Our Terrible Fate is a project to develop a custom implementation of Fate Core - plus some board game elements - in order to play scenarios originally designed for Call of Cthulhu with my family. As such, it will primarily be based in the 1920s, though that may expand depending on the scenarios I adapt.   The basic concept is this: Combine the investigative horror gameplay prominently featured in games like Call of Cthulhu with elements derived from board and card games, as well as other roleplaying games, to make it easier to explore the genre with my kids and other family members.   While not complete, we've already enjoyed some great success using this system and approach to play the Peru Prologue for Masks of Nyarlathotep.   Information on the system is available at base113.com.
