Otherwyrld

Largely named because all the good ones were taken, Otherwyrld is...a wyrd place.   A small planet (3,650km in circumference) that, lack of oceans and surplus of motivation willing, would only take about a month to traverse the circumference of, Otherwyrld is home to a variety of climates, biomes, and environments. From deep forests near the equator to windswept and frigid icelands at the poles, with savannahs, taigas, plains, and archipelagos in between, the planet hosts a surprising amount of lifeforms.
  Human settlement is not common or widespread, but is scattered in a few capitals across the globe; many humans choose to shun the cities in favour of building a cabin or shanty among one of the numerous islands strewn about the planet.
  The capital of Otherwyrld, insofar as it actually has a settlement big enough to be called such, is Home Office. Home Office doubles as both a city and the headquarters of the thoroughly bureaucratic Officiards, who consider themselves the ones who run Otherwyrld's affairs. In this belief, they are usually mistaken.
  As with any self-respecting life-bearing planet, Otherwyrld has had its fair share of conflicts, threats, and disasters, be it a plague of overenthusiastic flitterers sweeping the land, unwanted interference from what may or may not be gods, or--most dreadfully--the indefatigable rise of bureaucracy.
  For now, though, Otherwyrld is largely at peace. Uh, touch wood.
