F.E.A.R. Institute Compound
The F.E.A.R. Institute Compound (FIC) is a settlement-class RIM that houses the F.E.A.R. Institute. FIC is the premier location for researching and understanding Lanfe and the fiends that rule it. It contains multiple wards each dedicated to separate studies and disciplines. All the researchers of the F.E.A.R. Institute live in compound alongside their families. The compound has all the amenities anyone on Lanfe would kill to have, it is a feat within itself.
Government
FIC is fully funded, owned, and operated by the F.E.A.R. Institute, the board of directors sets the rules and regulations. All researchers must be working on a project and therefore that serves as their give back to the community, since their work produces results that further advance the institute and in part Lanfe.
Defences
FIC does not have much in the way of defensive infrastructure, but there is the FIC security force, which is an armed mercenary company, permanently employed by the institute, made up of mercenaries, ex-purgers, and retired Purgers.
Districts
There are multiple districts or wards that are focused on various studies and disciplines, as well as the housing district where everyone lives. The discovery ward is where exploratory missions are orchestrated, the fiendish research labs are where studying of fiends and fiend-touched creatures happens, the Lanfe conservatory is where a greater understanding of the flora of Lanfe is gained, the stormseer ward is dedicated to studying void storms, and the innovation labs are where new and emerging capabilities are born.
Tourism
FIC does not allow for non-institute people to visit unless they are of super importance and notoriety and have information or funding for the institute.
Architecture
All of the buildings are made of infernal metals and stones, they are built to function not form, efficient in layout and design, very boring for intents and purposes. Each ward is equidistant from each other and the pathways between them are very predictable and stagnant. No one save for possibly those that live there would say it was a beautiful compound, though there is something to say for their stark uniformity and order in a land the constantly fluctuates between order and chaos.
Geography
The general terrain of the compound is flat Lanfen plains, the institute that runs it is very strict and uniformed and therefore the land matches.
Natural Resources
The only natural resources that are native to FIC are those grown in the conservatory, otherwise all other resources are harvested from outside the compound.
