Twin Falls

Twin Falls is a large town in Cascadia Province, built around the Snake River. Its high walls offer protection from brigands, technophage beasts, and lost horrors.

Layout

The town is split into three walled districts.

Northside

The residential and administrative district on the north side of the river, Northside is walled from the ground. It's home to most of the long-time residents and the administrative centers of Twin Falls. A bridge connects it to the Spires.

Old Power Plant

Located where the old power plant used to be. Home to Twin Falls' small industrial and fab base, as well as most of the slowboat machinists.

Spires

The market square of Twin Falls, with over four dozen loading piers towering into the air. The largest slowboats have to venture south to some loading piers outside the city walls.

Demographics

95% of Twin Falls' permanent residents are human. The itinerant merchants traveling through the city are usually more of a mixed bag.

Government

The three-member **City Council** rules over Twin Falls, ostensibly listening to the **Solar Governing Council**, but mostly exists as a vassal of Denver.
The Council consists of:
* Roger Hong, a member of the powerful local Hong family, from the Northside. * Ember Ivanov, a merchant and employee of Thresh Logistics, who (ostensibly) represents the Old Power Plant. * Maggie Thrane, a stevedore representing the Spires District.

Defences

The town is surrounded by **stone walls** between twenty and thirty feet high. The walls are all fast-grown basalt, and are not enough to stop a dedicated attack force. However, they keep the wild animals out, and provide a modicum of defense against thieves and brigands.

Infrastructure

The Snake River is crossed via the **Snake Bridge**, made from fast-grown basalt. The city police will usually stop and question people unknown to them (*especially* non-humans) who are heading in to Northshire to inquire about their plans in the northern district.
