Treaty of Anti-Extermination

Purpose

To establish a duty to eliminate individuals, groups or organizations that seek to exterminate any race or civilization among all kingdoms. It is also used to establish the consequences for breaking the terms of the treaty for all kingdoms that signed it.

Document Structure

Clauses

There is a short introduction that specifies the reason for the document's creation and what it's purpose is. Beneath that are sections from each kingdom, authored by the monarchs that ruled them at the time, outlining and describing the measures they will take to prevent any further extermination. At the bottom is a section describing the consequences of breaking the terms of the treaty, followed by the signatures of each monarch.

Caveats

If any kingdom breaks the terms of the treaty, the responsibility will fall upon the monarch and they will be forced to relinquish power to someone else.

Publication Status

Each monarch has the document published in their courts and copies of the document are accessible to the public upon request. Copies of the document are printed on whatever material the copiers decide appropriate.

Legal status

The treaty is valid under the jurisdiction of each of the kingdoms on the main continent of Orya. This does not apply to individually owned land that is exempt from the jurisdiction of the kingdoms, as well as to islands and other continents on Orya.

Historical Details

Background

The Treaty of Anti-Extermination was drafted in the aftermath of the Human Eradication Incident, which caused a heavy portion of the Human population to be exterminated. In response, the monarchs for each race gathered together and formed a treaty to oppose anyone or anything that would cause such an event to happen again.

Public Reaction

There was much rejoicing! (Yaaaaaaaaay)

Legacy

This document established each kingdom's dedication and commitment to preventing an atrocity like the Human Eradication Incident from happening ever again. It is widely revered across the continent and unofficially upholds the peace between nations.

Term

The treaty is effective until a majority of the kingdoms that signed it agree to nullify the document.

This document follows in the shadow of the terrible eradication and near total annihilation of the Human race at the hands of Vetris Altrix, In this declaration, it is hoped to establish a formalized agreement between nations and monarchs to root out and destroy any attempts to recreate or produce any incidents similar to this one, and hold to account all monarchs who refuse to cooperate. These terms shall be legal and valid throughout all the land of all the kingdoms whose monarchs are signatories to this decree.
It is here that the Chrysali race pledge their word to uphold the terms of this treaty to their fullest capability. The Chrysali swear to take measures to prevent any individual, group or organization originating or building power within our borders from obtaining the power needed to carry out an extermination of this extent. We acknowledge the authority of this document, and hereby agree to face the consequences for not carrying out the terms contained within. We agree that the Queen of our kingdom will be held fully responsible for any failures to comply with this document, and understand that consequences can include prosecution and removal of power for the Queen.
It is here that the Wudmeri race pledge their word to uphold the terms of this treaty to their fullest capability. The Wudmeri swear to take measures to prevent any individual, group or organization originating or building power within our borders from obtaining the power needed to carry out an extermination of this extent. We acknowledge the authority of this document, and hereby agree to face the consequences for not carrying out the terms contained within. We agree that the monarch of our kingdom, king or queen, will be held fully responsible for any failures to comply with this document, and understand that consequences can include prosecution and removal of power for the monarch.
It is here that the Dwarven race pledge their word to uphold the terms of this treaty to their fullest capability. The Dwarves swear to take measures to prevent any individual, group or organization originating or building power within our borders from obtaining the power needed to carry out an extermination of this extent. We acknowledge the authority of this document, and hereby agree to face the consequences for not carrying out the terms contained within. We agree that the Council members will be held fully responsible for any failures to comply with this document, and understand that consequences can include prosecution and removal of power for those members.
It is here that the Aldmeri race pledge their word to uphold the terms of this treaty to their fullest capability. The Aldmeri swear to take measures to prevent any individual, group or organization originating or building power within our borders from obtaining the power needed to carry out an extermination of this extent. We acknowledge the authority of this document, and hereby agree to face the consequences for not carrying out the terms contained within. We agree that the monarch of our kingdom, king or queen, will be held fully responsible for any failures to comply with this document, and understand that consequences can include prosecution and removal of power for the monarch.
It is here that the Cragmeri and Gryfonna races pledge their collective word to uphold the terms of this treaty to their fullest capability. We hereby swear to take measures to prevent any individual, group or organization originating or building power within our collective borders from obtaining the power needed to carry out an extermination of this extent. We acknowledge the authority of this document, and hereby agree to face the consequences for not carrying out the terms contained within. We agree that the village chiefs will be held fully responsible for any failures to comply with this document, and understand that consequences can include prosecution and removal of power for those chiefs.
