The Human Eradication Incident

The Human Eradication Incident is quite possibly the largest catastrophe to ever play out on Orya. It saw the eradication of over 80 million Humans in one day, and would go on to influence events for the next five hundred years and counting.
In the year 280 4.E., a titanic battle took place just outside the kingdom's walls of Hydonia. This battle involved the largest armies ever assembled in any conflict, and also included the armies of all of the current kingdoms at that time. Every monarch with battle prowess was there, as well as every living Legendary Hero of that time. Even with such a massive amount of power at their disposal, there were still over 80 million Human deaths, and over 100 million deaths total. 
The opposing army was a race that had been relatively unknown up until that point, the Calmari, who were a race of bluish-purple skinned humanoids who were very adept at magic, and could double their size and strength at will. Their leader was none other than Vetris Altrix, an incredibly powerful woman created by Kalzak and Malence to destroy every other race on Orya. Leading the army directly were her children, who were each created to counter and absorb the abilities of each of the Legendary Heroes, a goal that some had already succeeded in at that point. 
Many lost their lives that day, as the Calmari forces, while smaller in number than the allies, were far stronger in ability. The two groups fought each other in a bloody battle that lasted for hours while a noble group of adventurers who would go on to become legends in their own right charged the castle that Vetris sat in and fought against her directly. Before they could succeed in defeating her, however, Vetris called upon the power of The King of All Calamities himself, and ordered him to destroy the Human race. Countless people lost their lives to this legendary dragon's Unmaker breath, including a Legendary Hero. Valerie, a powerful paladin that had mastered Maker Magic, stood and fought valiantly against the King of All Calamities, and managed to fight him off until he returned to the Atom after Vetris was defeated.
This battle would go on to be the worst recorded blood-bath in history, rivaled by none. It is also the source for the eternal torment of Vetris Altrix, who had the evil half of her soul ripped out by Death, and now lives in shame of the atrocities she had been forced to commit.
