Elf Species in Orr | World Anvil

Elf

Omnivorous, upright creatures related to other bipedal creatures, such as dwarves and humans. Like humans and dwarves, elves possess opposable thumbs and large, complex brains which allows for them to utilize tools and solve complex problems. These attributes have also aided them in establishing cultures and developing language.   There are two distinct races of elves, one of which is clearly Fae, with strong magical connections to nature, natural magics, divine magics, and as well the arcane. Fae elves also benefit from a longevity the Mundane elves, known as "Duskers" no longer seem to possess. While Fae elves may live for as long as 500 years, Duskers die within 300. Fae elves come in all shapes, sizes, and skin tones, as do Duskers, but the latter trends more towards greys, blues, browns, and greens—skin tones that help them blend into their habitats better. Duskers also have an average height range between 5' and 6' which rarely deviates.   Fae elves have taken to referring to themselves as Eosi Dae or simply Dae which translates to "morning form", and they tend to be reserved and haughty. The greatest concentration of them live in the Storm Wood Forest, in the elven city of Lyandreth, which is built upwards, into the trees. Dae elves cultivate mushrooms as one of their main staples, along with acorn bread, berries and nuts, and they hunt game from the forest. Unlike Duskers and other Mundane, the Dae only need to eat once a day.
