Tabaxi
Biology
Anatomy & Physiology
Tabaxi are vertical bipedal hexapods, with two sets of wiry limbs on the sides of the torso and a pair at the bottom for bipedal locomotion. The two fore pairs have opposable digits, used to manipulate their environment. Tabaxi have an internal skeleton composed of cartilage, collagen, and calcium phosphate. They respire through two pairs of spiracle nostrils, and their vascular oxygen carrier is hemoglobin, an iron-based protein that turns bright red when oxidized.Perception & Sensory Capabilities
Visual
Tabaxi have a single pair of focal binocular slit-pupil eyes, which are able to detect motion, definite shape, spatial orientation, and color even in low light conditions.
Auditory
Tabaxi hearing is very sensitive, facilitated by two stacked pairs of triangular external ears set behind the eyes. The larger pair is attuned to low frequencies into the standard hearing range while the smaller pair is able to pick up higher frequencies into ultrasound.
Olfactory
Tabaxi have an extremely keen olfactory sense, facilitated by two stacked pairs of spiracles that lead to a complex chemosensory chamber connected to the respiratory system.
Tactile
The tabaxi tactile sense is very strong. Their entire epidermis is sensitive to tactile input, though the effect is most intense in the tail and the manipulative digits at the ends of the upper limbs. Additionally, their face contains over 30 articulated and hypersensitive tactile whiskers.
Ecology
Geographic Origin & Distribution
The tabaxi evolved on the warm terran world of Nexal, in the Maajh star system. From here they have spread across the stars, and are a fairly common sight, but their sociopolitical influence and numbers are concentrated closer to the core worlds.Habitat & Survival Factors
The optimal survival range in a variety of factors for an unequipped tabaxi is rather wide to begin with, though they much prefer warmer climates. Given the technology and/or resources to build said technology, they can eke out a living almost anywhere in the cosmos.Civilization & Culture
Tabay culture is complex and nuanced, structured into separate and largely nomadic clans. Inter-clan relations are complicated and rooted in deep history; slights against a clan can and often do lead to generational feuds or clan warfare. Due to this, clans are notoriously mistrustful of others, and the centerpiece of Tabay society is a web of inter-clan espionage, subterfuge, and assassination. However, the tabaxi are a brilliant folk in their own right, and their nomadic heritage makes them excellent navigators in particular.Major Organizations

Physical Traits
Extra Limbs
You may take two bonus actions during your turn rather than one, so long as they are different actions coming from different sources.Natural Weapons
Your teeth and claws act as natural weapons, adding 1d4 piercing and slashing damage to your unarmed attacks.Hypersensory
You are keenly aware of your surroundings through a combination of acute vision, keen hearing, and a strong sense of smell. You gain proficiency in the Perception skill, you cannot be surprised in combat, and attackers do not gain advantage from flanking you. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You cannot discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.Cultural Traits
