Lizardfolk

There are effectively two groups of Lizardfolk within Archevon. Those which live within civilization and have exchanged their voracious desire for violence for a life apart from their swamp dwellings and general poverty simply known as Lizardfolk in the common tongue. Then there are the Likvarðau, which translates to Scaledeath in Draconic, which they speak a bastardized version of that and Aquan. Failing to mention saying that the phenotype's of Lizardfolk are many would be considered an oversight and generally an understatement. However, there are only four Lizardfolk phenotypes within Archevon.

As mentioned, there are those who live within cities and generally coexist with humans, elves, dwarves, and other non-reptilian people's of Archevon and the Empire as a whole, known as "Geckos" to some due to their resemblance to the actual lizard and their temperate demeanor. They are shorter than others of their kind, yet they have grown adaptations to being able to climb due to their initial affinity towards the forest and jungle dwellings, losing much of their capacity to swim great depths, and no less gaining the capacity to communicate beyond their kin's regular grasp of formality.

Then there are the Bogscale, more crocodilian in form, and no less ferocious. Many of them which decide to leave their villages will take up mercenary or laborer work, spending most if not all of their coin on food. As they boast a powerful build, a tenacious mindset, and an instinctive desire to survive, they'll nearly always be found amongst other likeminded people. Some of which are known to join parties of adventurers so long as a good reward is being offered. They are capable swimmers, adept at stealth, able to use most if not all parts of their prey, capable of biting through bone, and are known to be able to hold an impressive understanding of the natural world. No less, they a great addition to any party needing a powerful shocktrooper.

Another addition would be the Plainstalkers, sharing many features with the Geckos, yet their form is more akin to their ancestors than their city-dwelling kin. Key traits include elongated talons, larger eyes, and scale coloration which have been noted to blend in with their natural hunting grounds. Many of them have completely forgone the ability to swim, which normally comes from a powerful tail, to be able to run at an impressive velocity and be able to balance themselves as they traverse the rugged landscape they find themselves on. An interesting note about them would be they are no less intelligent than their city-dwelling kin, and having an apt understanding for social queues (albeit used mainly for noting weaknesses), which has given credit a theory that they are actually further closely related to one another than either of the two other phenotypes.

Finally, there are the Rockeaters, which as the name suggests, tend to eat rocks. Initially, scholars assumed they, even for Lizardfolk standards, were far too dull and lacking tact - Which put them in a situation where they were made to be a completely separate species from their now-found-to-be kin. They aren't the largest, but they are the hardiest, their scales are uniquely resembling scalemail (which a few historians suggest is where the armor's name derives from), and their limbs will regenerate given time. While their social capability is the lowest out of the four, it is noted that they are seen to work together and communicate with other Lizardfolk phenotypes and are seen able to achieve and do feats which isn't normally documented from them. Typically given commands by their more intelligent kin, of course.
