Faun

Known as Fèidh (or Fèidhans) in their sylvan tongue, as Fiann (or Fianns) in their Elvish counterpart, and simply Faun in the common tongue - They share a long history with the inhabitants of Archevon, and are known to be exemplary citizens of the Empire, having served in multiple wars against the forces of disorder, giving many Faun lives in order to preserve the peace of Archevon and its people. However, most of the Faun are generally peaceful folk, preferring to spend their days in their rural or semi-rural communities, and tending to their garden groves where they trade helpful herbs amongst other rare organic ingredients to any passing traveler or merchant.

Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

These innately mystical beings are found throughout a number of Elven settlements throughout Archevon. Most of them preferring to stay closer to the forests and the natural world abroad. It is rare to see one within a non-elvish city for long, as their sensitive ears and noses can be negatively effected by the constant hum and potentially pungent odors.

Naming Traditions

A number of Faun forgo names altogether, however, due to the close proximity and years of cultural melding with the Elves and humans of Archevon, they have taken it upon themselves to dictate what and who they would be called. Many of which have a few names depending on their livelihood or feats. And as such, their names tend to be unisex and generally reserved towards those who have felt they earned them.

Gàirn (Blacksmith), Sagar (Priest), Daire (Messenger), Saighdear (Soldier), Seinne (Bard), Mèirle (Thief), and Ceanna (Leader) as examples thereof.
