"Shade Elves", Chashaki Elves

Slender and with deadly cunning, the only other elven race that lives primarily beneath the to surface of the world. They have the largest population and have the currently the most developed cities of elven kind, their oldest Edessa which translates to "Restful Hold" in common is nearly four thousand years old. They hold control over the Shade forests in the Underdark and as well as the Glowing Pillars a region inside on of the main caverns that produces light and heat from several large pillars that glow constantly at their base sits a small lake of water and an island when water touches the pillar for too long it will evaporate. This causes the Under dark to have it's own weather system rain moving out and falling when it hits the walls causing it to trickle down into small rivers back through fields, canals and river beds back to the lake beneath the pillars. The Chashaki call the isles at the base of the Glowing Pillars their home but they are welcomed almost any where they go in the Underdark as with out them stopping the Natural pillars from eroding then this would stop both the light and the rain down deep beneath the earth.
