Caul'qa (Kawl-kuha)

Caul'qa is an older and more under-spoken vyllkard language of Cauven. Its evolved through forms of Dek-kis, Kwuatian common, and merged with modernization to eventually become what it is today. Common language from colonists has taken over most usage, with vyllks happy to learn and express their more evolved beaks past older harsher sounds. Yet a few words and native speakers still remain, and it has some use that's carried from a few conservative speakers, to slang and select few words that still make their way between common language. A lot of root ideals in the language also take up places among vyllk or cauven location names.   The language makes use of a lot of older vyllkard vowels and noises, involving more clicking, shrill, and snappy sounds, with the occasional more 'purring' vowel mixed in. Its still more common around religious areas, than civilian. It never had a very strong written presence, with a lot of early recorded work not adapting to the rate of words processing and culminating from its root languages, or the presence of newer ones.

Notable Words Still In Use...

Klika: Noisy, sometimes referred to an unknown or annoying sound. Monitors and tech vyllk will often refer to unusual sound disruptions, or distress signal alerts as "Kilka calls"   Kliqor: The beak, sometimes used loosely as the mouth or face of something else, but more often referring exclusively to beaked faces with the mouths or snouts more often compared to just a hole in their language.   Crukoo: A vyllk mating dance, preserved in language to dignify as different from other times one might dance with their tails unfolded, like color shows.   Burra: A type of windy storm, and heavy gust. Sometimes used more as exaggerated talk to compare with being "under a spell", or emotional trauma. Like, "I feel a burra of frustration at the moment."   Twililly: The tail of a vyllk, an object of much pride in their plumage. Has sometimes bee used metaphorically to describe special findings, or rare gems, essentially items that are colorful and attention-grabbing.   Twekurk / Berkurk: Literally translated as Top and Bottom respectively. Used across a wide variety of terms as opposites of a broader direction or measuring system. Twekurk is more often used to describe the face of religious idols, or discussing the nose of aircrafts, or something high up. Berkurk has become a far more crude word, interchangeable with ass as a word that is often expressed in phrases of, "He's too stupid to tell his own Kliqor from his berkurk". It can still be seldom used to align as an opposite directional key with Twekurk. "The kurks" are sometimes used as an expression of general duality.   Qshonta: Serene, or at peace. To be calm, or happy. To shout Qshonta is sometimes a greeting to stay in good spirits.   Woolum: Very seldom used on its own merit. The word changed from initially starting out as the 'sound' of a hollow splash in water, to describing water and 'watery' fruits. Eventually the word fizzled out more into juice brand names. However one extensively used mutation of this word is combined with Qshonta to denote a bird that is ready to go test their peace with Cossi by making themselves a 'fat and juicy' meal for someone else. The ready bird is called Qshoolum.
