Karsmouth is the capital and largest city of the Kingdom of Karvin. Standing on the Karsmouth peninsula west of the Orbis Strait. Karsmouth also serves as a major port for the Western continent, serving latitudinal trade routes of the surrounding Kingdoms. For this reason, Karsmouth has served as the economic heart of the Kingdom of Karvin since its founding. In recent years, Karsmouth has been the source of unrest and diplomatic dispute, bearing witness to the majority of violence during the Great Hemispheric War. A resultant outbreak of Caliginous Fever and violent crime has earned Karsmouth a precarious reputation.
Demographics
Karsmouth is considered a racially diverse city in the Kingdom of Karvin. Though the majority of inhabitants are human, Karsmouth serves as the home of many other sentient races as well. Karsmouth also has a notable minority of Hui-Sani born inhabitants of many races, whose continued existence within the walls of the city have been the cause of much controversy following the war.
Government
The Cirrus district in the centre of Karsmouth harbors the center of administration of the Kingdom of Karvin. The Imperial Palace holds both the Kings Residence and the Plebian House, which represents both the interests of the nobility and the general populace respectively.
Defences
Karsmouth's defensive walls and imperial barracks proved decisive in its defense during the great hemispheric war. The overwhelming majority of the city resides within the walls which run along to the port. The Port-side of the city also has additional anti-naval countermeasures that were deployed to limited success during the Hui-Sani invasion.
Infrastructure
Karsmouth is divided into 3 distinct districts. The Stratus district encompasses most of the area of the city and the majority of its citizens. The Nimbus district includes the port-side of the city and serves as the city's heart of trade and commerce. The Nimbus district surrounds the aforementioned Cirrus District, and houses the nobility and centre of administration. Additionally, a small section of the Cirrus district lies within the Stratus District - Beatrice House, the residence of the Heir Apparent in Karsmouth.
