The Red Years War

Bloodiest Bunshin - Menian conflict.

One of the bloodiest international conflict the West has ever known, second only to the Eternal Conquest. This lengthy conflict pitt the allied Menian Sects against the warmongering Bunshin Administration.   After heated debates over the ownership of land between the representatives of the two countries, the Sounthern-most Sect of Menia and the Uzushiro Clan of Bunshin, it became clear in the eyes of the Bunshin powers that Menia was cheating its way into obtaining a territorial gain. The cultural distrust towards religion of the BUnshin only exacerbated the tensions. In response to this dishonorable attempt, the entire country opposed the transaction in violent displays, kicking menian traders out of the cities and displacing small Menian fortified settlements along the frontier. The opposition escalated into military conflict when a caravan of Bunshin traders was massacred after passing the new frontier the Menia kingdom had selfishly drawn. Total war was then declared.   The war lasted a long time thanks to the needs for self-protection inherent to Orbidian civilisations such as monster attacks, harvests, and difficult travels... making the army movements slow and with fewer numbers than necessary. However, every year had its fill of slaughters and pillages which turned the Western plains red with blood of both sides. The Bunshin Administration had a superior military, but was ultimately felled after a surprise defeat saw the capture of the northern capital, and the supply chains between settlement was fully cut. The Bunshin, starving and leaderless, was on a path to absorption into Menia. Menia seemed destined to become a rising conqueror, that is, until both the arrival of the Demon Empire's Eternal Conquest, and changes in Menian structure. Both events interwoven, and changing the power balance considerably.
