Spire-Beetles

An insectoid monster the size of a house. The Spire-Beetles possess spikes all around their bodies that they use to impale threats from all direction, as well as infect their targets with either venom or the mana they stored in their abdomens. Found deep into the Carsil Forest, they rarely come out of their territories even with an appetizing bait laid for them.   So stoic are they that they wouldn't leave their nesting grounds even after a fire turned everything to dust or another monster destroyed everything in a large radius. This seemingly suicidal stance hides the fat that Spire-Beetle can have a full ecosystem on their backs, and can revitalize destroyed surroundings if they die. Thus, a live Spire-Beetle is a dangerous forest guardian, while a dead Spire-Beetle is an agent of rebirth.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Spire-Beetles can reach as high as nine feet, and be twelve feet long. Like other insects, they have six articulated limbs. The two fore-limbs are thinner than the first parts. They have chitinous structure around them, and their internal organs are maintained through mana reinforcment, as most other insect species are at this size.

Growth Rate & Stages

Spire-Beetle reach their size through multiple molting, much like other insectoid monsters and the @Demons. One interesting thing is that for them to evolve, the Spire Beetles need to be partialy buried in a rich soil, letting their armoured exoskeletton camouflages and shields them. It roughly takes 36 hours for a molting to take place

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
