Torykan Roeakar

Torykan Roeakar has been the inspiration to a great many governmental systems since his start in politics when he was very young. He revolutionized ideas that help keep kings in power, and though his works are controversial (even evil, depending on who you ask) , they are certainly effective.

Torykan's Entry into Politics

Torykan Roeakar was the second cousin of Korylak Makassh III, one of Arassh's most powerful kings with many heirs. Torykan wanted more than anything else to rule Arassh more than anything else, and he was determined to hold it for as long as he could manage. To do so, he started travelling the world and observed how other nations were ruled. He studied history to every minutia, making note of the rise, fall, and reign of every king, queen and emperor that had ever existed. It was there that he noticed several patterns, especially in stories of revenge and tales of justice. He realized that, if anyone wanted to rule, they had to rule absolutely. They could not allow their enemies to exist, lest they be overthrown. He believed that laws must be strict and strongly punished in order to prevent revolt. It was revelations like these that motivated him to start talking about politics to the heirs of Korylak III, keeping a watchful eye on their endeavors.

Torykan's Dominion

With the years, Torykan would raise Korylak III's heirs more and more, planting his ideas in their heads. By the age of thirty five, he had the heirs in his pocket, and he used them to test his ideas to determine which ones worked and which did not. He would personally inscribe every idea he had and how well it worked, creating the largest secret collection of texts on a single topic in the entire world. By the end of his machinations, Rykossh--Korylak III's immediate heir--would rule over four times as long as her father did, the entire time with an iron fist, proving Torykan's ideas to be true.

Death of a Politician

Torykan would live deep into his old age, growing far older than those around him. He was eventually executed for conspiracy to control the throne, an objective that it's speculated he had been working towards his entire life. Despite his treason, the Dragonborn acknowledge the wisdom of his words and his ways.   To this day, Torykan's ideas remain hugely crucial to Arassh 's governance. Though he never achieved his dream of becoming king, his influence lived long after he had passed.

He definitely seems like a shrewd politician, I'm not sure if a morally good one. Its interesting how he decided to just... experiment on people, see what worked. I'd love to see who would consider him a good person and why; it seems like that part of the entry has been neglected a little bit.

Thank you for your response! I see what you mean about that, and when I get some time I'll put some more story into it.
