Orah

A magical land, where the Elements play important roles. Fantastical creatures -- some good, some bad -- such as fairies, nymphs, sirens, etc. Humans can have magical abilities related to the Elements. These abilities can be hereditary, but don't have to be, and can skip generations.   A beautiful land, but also war-torn. The conflict is somewhat political, with the main villain being an usurper to the throne. The rightful prince was only a child when he was forced out of his home. He is now a young man, and is doing his best to help his unhappy people.   Orah has a connection to our own regular Earth. It's mostly a one-way street, with Orah knowing about Earth, but Earth not knowing about Orah. In our regular world, there are a few children who have Elemental abilities -- but don't know what it means, and keep it secret.   These kids eventually learn of Orah and get caught up in trying to free the land from tyranny, while also learning more about themselves and each other.
