The Codex of Nascent Man

Often referred to simply as "The Codex" (Za Kodikz in Marineri, this compendium is the most important document in all of Nascentism. The Codex is published primarily in digital format, however print copies have been made in order to make the document more accessible to the remote and destitute. Authenticated copies of The Codex are usually distributed on their own tablet, and Nascentists are explicitly instructed not to install any other documents or software onto the same drive as the Codex to avoid corruption by malicious software.   The first known copy of The Codex purports to be authored by Dr. Anna Larsson herself, despite being dated to several decades after her death. The Codex has been updated several times throughout the last century, each time with a biometrically encrypted signature to verify its authenticity. Some offshoots of Nascentism have published their own updated copies, but these are not widely sanctioned beyond those specific sects. Such alterations are generally considered blasphemous to the movement.

Structure

The Codex of Nascent Man is divided into four sections or books:

The Metalog

The Metalog contains information on the Codex itself, generally pertaining to the version history, updates, and other notes. The Metalog is heavily encrypted and generally only read by Nascentist leaders and scholars. There are rumors the Metalog contains hidden messages and instructions that only a chosen few can decipher.

Epigenesis

Epigenesis is the collected history of the Nascentist movement. Much of the first chapters are a biography on Dr. Anna Larsson and her struggle to develop the Synthetically Adapted Human Beings. Epigenesis is the most frequently revised section in the entire Codex, as accounts of the proliferation of Synthads and Nascentism are added to the historical catalog. Despite this, the sections pertaining to Anna's life are never altered in official versions.

Index of Comportments

The Index, as it is often referred, is a guide for Nascentist virtues and ethics. The Index instructs Nascentists on how they are to behave and conduct themselves in daily life. The underlying ethos professed in the Index appears to favor pragmatism, scientific advancement, and the betterment of humanity, or at least the Synthetically Adapted Humans.

Prognosticon

The Prognosticon is in some ways a prophetic document, and in others a guiding vision for the future of human civilization. It is often compared to the Book of Revelations in the Christian bible. The Prognosticon most famously portends that there will be a great clash between old mankind and the new altered humans, in which Nascentist civilization will eventually prevail and rise to supremacy over all of human space. Following that, humanity would enter into a new golden age and conquer the stars.
