Eldanír-in-Danu

Eldanír-in-Danu is an abbey dedicated to the worship of the goddess Danu and the training of her young clerics and monks. It is one of the six temple-campuses in Scalados dedicated to the major gods of the Wild Dynasty.

Structure

The temple is led by Prima Lucina te-Danu, an ancient Aasimar woman who has held this position since her predecessor Prima Kinu te-Danu was implicated in Onimaru's Scandal in Y748. Decisions in the temple are made by the Prima and the heads of each of the school's departments: healing, theology, letters, and martial arts.   The head of the healing department is Sister Lorca, an ancient Wood Elf healer who has worked at the school for most of her life. She is a relatively rare example of a female cleric in the Wild Dynasty religion. She is known regionally for her writing on Quoluvë.   Father Kai, a relatively young wood elf cleric, leads the theology department and the temple-campus's worship services. He has held the position since the death of his predecessor Father Danko at the end of Y1110.   Father Iovanis is an Elfdwarf sage, the head of letters and scribes and the chief librarian on campus.   Finally, wood elf Warrior Monk Sister Anjiu is the head of martial arts training. She believes in analyzing the individual strengths of a fighter and teaching to them, rather than emphasizing any particular weapon practice. Thus, unlike many other training programs, Eldanír-in-Danu's martial training does not prioritize a signature weapon. Great warriors have come out of the temple who wield spears, shortswords, longswords, quarterstaffs, shuriken, or even no weapons at all.

Culture

All students and faculty are strictly forbidden from consuming meat or alcohol. They are expected to keep vows of chastity, poverty, and humility; in practice, same-sex relationships are often overlooked so long as they are kept discreet, but opposite-sex romance is strictly forbidden.

Public Agenda

Eldanír-in-Danu is dedicated to the glory of Mother Danu and reverence towards nature. The holy people at the temple are caretakers of the earth, not stewards of its mortals. Thus, Eldanír only opens to the public on a few major holidays a year.
