Ontus
Vitus is a vast world of rugged mountains, scorching deserts, lush forests, and temperamental seas. Inhabited by various cultures and races, from the giant Tryggavolk to the mighty Dragons and cunning Sapphrians.
The continent of Forgosia is the main subject of the story, and is the setting for most tales throughout the world’s history. The continent is split into 9 nations, each with unique terrain and culture. Spanning the northern coast and curving down into the east is the nation of Rokara, a land of harsh and cold mountains, deep, dark forests, stony hills, and the people known as Jorns. It is the domain of Jarls, warriors, sailors, and dragons, and is one of three major powers on the continent.
On the western coast just south of Rokara is the kingdom of Sutherland. An ancient kingdom of stone castles protected by armored knights who serve the Church of Oren, they are one of the stronger military powers in Forgosia. On the eastern coast lies the fiery domain of the Ash Elves, Gundar. A varied land consisting of the volcanic Obsidian Wastes, the vast Ash Plains, the Ironwood Forest, and the Sulfur Springs, it is a harsh and abrasive land. Between these two nations are the lush forests and rolling meadows of Claedwen, home of the Wood Elves. Old enemies of the Jorns, they often war against each other.
To the south of Claedwen is the Empire of Sapphria, a diverse nation made up of seven united tribes, led under the Sapphrian Emperor. Often considered to be the heart of Forgosia due to its prosperity and central location, it is Forgosia’s center of commerce and trade, and is the second of the three major world powers making up the Forgost.
Along a peninsula south of Sutherland is Tynera, shrouded in lore and mysticism. Home of the demon-worshipping Nikaru and the nomadic Hurfong peoples, it’s terrain varies from humid swampland delta along the peninsula to arid plains on the mainland bordering Sapphria.
The southern/most part of the continent is made up of Telavir, a secretive jungle nation of an avian race called the Telviri on the southwestern tip of the continent, Chirnak on the eastern coast, and Galoria between the two. Chirnak is home to a feline race called the Chir, who escaped to the continent of Forgosia after the destruction of their homeland. Despite being a relatively new nation, they quickly established themselves as the third power of the Forgost. Lastly, Galoria is a land of mountains and deserts, and is home to the subterranean Dwarves, masters of metalworking and mining.
Off the main continent are several islands, most important of them being Chi-nar and Sitala. Located far off the eastern coast of the continent is Chi-nar, a mostly wild archipelago inhabited by the turtle-like Shi-cho. The criminal-ruled town of Blackwater is the only settlement which remains on the islands. Meanwhile, far to the north is the island of Sitala. Home of the magically adept Snow Elves, during parts of the winter the entire island is locked in ice, but the Elves have developed both magical and mundane means of gathering sustenance.
