SYNTH
A Brief History
Begun in 2007 at the behest of the CEO of the Deepcore Foundation, Freddie D. Russo had ordered the hundreds of scientists working for the Foundation to begin work on a cybernetic body that could allow him to not only survive any further assassination attempts that are made on his life, but to also allow him to walk again after the last one he had been through damaged his lower spine, causing him to lose all function of his legs. The project took 6 years to be completed, with the very best of the best experimenting, researching, and developing the parts and mechanisms needed to not only simulate the human body, but to improve it on many levels. Finally, on September 8th, 2013, the SYNTH project was revealed to the world. It took a year for the body to be rolled out privately to various investors, military and government officials before finally being given to the public, allowing those who are approaching the end of their lifespan to survive for much, much longer.Access & Availability
SYNTH Bodies have been given to high-ranking military officers that the Deepcore Foundation has had business dealings with, as well as officials who work alongside the Foundation. For the most part, however, SYNTH is given to those who reside in protected cities that are overseen by the Deepcore Foundation in the American Wasteland, usually as recommendation by doctors to those who are suffering from cancer or other terminal illnesses. While expensive, those who work for the Deepcore Foundation or one of it's hundreds of partnered companies have been able to get the bodies relatively cheaper.Controversy
Before The Withering made it difficult to spread certain kinds of information around, there had been reports by various independent groups; including the FDA that the bodies are outfitted with trackers; which the Deepcore Foundation could use to identify and locate individuals who have undergone the procedures. Alongside that, there have been reports of people experiencing the blood within their bodies leaking out and their limbs falling off due to faulty parts. Lastly, a few people have reported chips that had planted in their brain without any prior notification, with the purpose of the chips being unknown to the general public.Manufacturing
SYNTH Project, Synthetic Replacement Program, Life-Extension Protocol
I actually find this idea a little creepy. I wonder if something comparable would ever be available in real life. I do like the touch that the technology was developed with the funding of a rich person who wanted to expand his life. I can see that happening for real. xD
