Blade Of The Einharjar

The Blade Of The Einharjar, named after old norse viking warriors whom have died in battle, is a ancient weapon; of which it's origin is not known at this time. Some scriptures depict it as belonging to an old warrior from another world that had appeared in the midst of the 10,000 Days. It uses the symbols from the Elder Futhark language, the oldest form of the Norse runic alphabet in it's design. Filled with a seemingly limitless amount of Mana; the blade has many abilities; allowing for a variety of uses in combat.

History

According to the depictions, the blade was created by an unknown set of deities during the 10,000 Days. The deities, presumably for the sake of Humankind, gave it to an old warrior that had existed around this time. The warrior was depicted as a knight in black, dull armor; with a strange glow that would peer through various cracks and holes within it's form... The warrior; known as The Black Knight, was a savior to the humans during the 10,000 Days and the war that occured before it, protecting them as they made their trek across the planet after it had been ravaged by the destruction that tore it apart.
According to the murals, when the 10,000 Days came to an end; the blade was brough to another world by The Black Knight for a time. It would remain in that world until another war broke out, this time between Earth and a nightmarish realm that was mentioned in other artifacts and tombs. When The Black Knight brought the weapon back, he fought valliantly, being one of the few humans whom retained their ability for magic. What happened to the blade and The Black Knight afterward is unknown, however, as any trace of the aftermath of the war has been missing.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Although no human has found the blade and figured out how to use it, ancient texts have described that the wielder of the blade feels a connection to it, able to switch its function on the fly whenever needed. The blade has twenty-four different modes, each depicted as a Elder Futhark Rune on the side and based on either the Proto-Germanic or Old English meanings. The 24 functions, including known and unknown are:
Item type
Weapon, Other
Current Location
Rarity
Aside from timeline duplicates that potentially exist as a result of timeline distortions and splits, there is only one that exists on Earth. However, it's specific location is unknown at this time.
Weight

Raw materials & Components
The hilt of the blade is made from Steel that has been inbued with Mana and various other types of metal; with a type of leather being used for the handle. The hilt has two spikes jutting down from the sides as well; possibly made of Edenite or another material entirely.
On the front and back of the hilt is a sphere-shaped object embedded into it; wherupon one of 24 Elder Futhark runes form. Instead of a blade, there is a black slot on the top of the blade that seems to form blades or other objects out of Mana.

I'm very curious as to what those unknown runes do. It's a shame the blade is currently lost. The Black Knight sounds like an interesting and mysterious character too. Lots of mystery here.
