The Tipsy Salmon

It would probably be an understatement if I said I felt only a little out of place. I could feel everyone's eyes follow me as I strode up to the front bar and took a seat on an empty stool. Grizzled looking folk fill most of the pub. The bartender mentions something about fishing as I examine the menu. I ordered the greasiest and heartiest sounding foods and a tall glass of ale.
— The beginning of Essie Prixo's blog post about the pub.
Located near the center of Mistview is the Tipsy Salmon. It is primarily a pub, but does have a few rooms for rent on the second level. The main barkeep and current owner of the building is an agender dark elf named Eki Zwei. The building is rectangular and two stories tall. It is made from black stone with white wood accents. Attached to the front of the building above the entrance is a large salmon made from brass. A bottle of beer, also made from brass, is tipped at an angle into its mouth giving it the appearance of chugging down the drink.    The inside of the pub is nautical themed. On the first floor is the main bar with stools in front of it. There are both large wooden tables to fit groups and several smaller wooden tables for single or double sitting. Each table has a different miniature ship bolted down at its center. It is used for decoration and to hold the condiments. Rope, large shells, taxidermy fish and crabs, wooden ship wheels, sea maps, and netting adorn the walls. The floor is bare wood. On the ceiling are star lights that are placed in a way to resemble the constellations that are found in the night sky over the town.    There are six rooms on the second floor. Three are single beds and three are doubles. They are plain but homey. The beds are soft and have warm, navy blue blankets. Each room has a nightstand with a lamp, a small desk, a set of drawers, and a throw rug with fish and boat patterns. There are two community bathrooms; one located at each end of the hall.

Meet the Staff

Eki Zwei: They are the owner and head bartender. Preferring the night shift, they're commonly working between the hours of 7Pm to whatever wee hour of the morning they decide to leave. They love making whacky and new mixed drinks for customers. If one of the fishers have stories to tell, they will gladly listen.    Delilah Flameheart: This dwarven woman is the head of the morning shift. She's in the door at 6am every day, ready to help the kitchen staff get breakfast started for patrons. Kindhearted and friendly, she's welcoming to even the most gruff visitors.    Spicy: A young adult tiefling male who works primarily as a waiter. He also helps with housekeeping and kitchen cleanup. His preferred shifts start in the afternoon. During slow times he enjoys playing card games with the regulars.    Zarzu: An older goblin woman who is the head chef. She loves providing the patrons with good, fulfilling meals. At 5am she comes in to get the prep work done and set up the kitchen for her other staff. She'll take a several hour break after breakfast hours before returning to help with lunch and work on the dinner rush.

Cliental

Mistview is primarily a fishing town. During the off seasons many of the fishers and their crew gather at the pub to celebrate and relax until the next journey out to sea. Many tales are swapped between regulars of large catches and perilous moments on the open water. Many visitors to the town pass through for a good meal and even a play to stay the night if needed. It is the most packed during the fishing off season and various holidays.

Entertainment

A stereo behind the front counter plays a rotating mix of sea shanties and energetic piano music. There is a shelf off to the side full of different decks of cards, dice sets, dominos, and various board games. They are free for patrons to use as long as they don't steal, lose, or intentionally damage them. Sometimes local musicians are invited to play on the weekends or for holiday events. Every summer they hold an eating contest where visitors have the chance to win a fish shaped trophy and a gift card good for 20 meals. Whoever can finish a super large burger or giant sea food plate in 90 minutes wins.

The second time I visited was in the last month of summer. After taking a tour of the lighthouse, I stopped for dinner at this whacky pub. I warmed up to the locals and felt really welcomed by the staff. I seemed to have walked in at an odd time, however, as there was a crowd surrounding the center table. Stacked high on a plate was a crap ton of shrimp that some bloke was shoveling into his mouth. A large timer on the wall was counting down as this happened. I slipped into a nearby single table and watched in awe as I waited to order.

This sounds like it'd be a really nice place to visit - the food sounds amazing. I like the quotes by Essie. :D
