Mushroom Juice Collector

The pay may be good, but I'm perfectly fine with my comfy office job. I can't imagine how hot and sticky it is in that marsh.

This job is not well suited for those with weak constitutions or an aversion to getting dirty. For those willing to traverse the Scarlet Marsh, this position provides decent pay for a temporary side job. These individuals are only needed for two different occasions each year when the material is produced. Typically the local scientists based in Myoserin send their junior members to do the job, but they don't mind leaving the dirty work to trusted citizens willing to put up with the harsh conditions.

A Vital Material

Located in the center of the marsh is the Rhodotus Forest where towering mushrooms provide the component these employees are tasked to gather. It is only produced for about a month during the spring and autumn. This material is a liquid produced on the mushroom's stalks that forms in a sac with a thin membrane. The scientists refine this into vaccines for Fungal Fever and other medicine.

Duties

The collector has one primary goal. They must enter the forest and collect as many fluid sacs as possible before the season ends. Once a pack is full, the employee will return to Myoserin and drop off their load. If there are sacs left, they may return and continue until all possible materials are gathered.

While inside the forest, the employees are encouraged to take notes on their observations. The scientists want to keep track of both the ecosystem's health and any signs of tampering.

Special Containers

Each employee is given a large pack to wear on their backs. The inside is insulated and padded. There are compartments to store the glass jars that will hold the fluid filled sacs. They are instructed to fill these jars without overstuffing to prevent leaking; it doesn't matter if the sacs break as long as they stay inside the container. The glass is enchanted to prevent shattering.

Safety

Employees are provided PPE to deal with the potential dangers of wading through a spore filled swamp. If none of them have the capabilities to protect themselves or feel comfortable doing so, the company will provide a trained team to escort them in and out of the marsh.
