Agi's Shrine Protest
Content Warning: Violent Acts
This was supposed to bring about change our islands so desperately need to better function and support each other. Instead innocent folk were needlessly murdered. I was the only survivor and now sit in a cold prison cell despite committing no technical crimes. I fear for the violent years that are sure to come as a response from outraged citizens.
The first couple years during the Era of Strife dealt with rising tensions that would lead to a long period of conflicts. This specific event was the precedent that overflowed the boiling pot of frustration amongst Omari's people. It was meant to be a peaceful protest aiming to change the law and government at the time. The result was a violent attack that didn't need to occur.
Initial Protest
A group of citizens composed of representatives from different species and cultures agreed to gather in front of Agi's shrine. They sought to bring attention to how chaotic the current forms of government were and wanted the people in charge to consider making changes. Everyone agreed that a more cohesive unity between the islands would benefit every citizen in the long run. They sat and talked peacefully, willing to wait however long it would take for some official to make contact. Locals provided everyone with supplies during the three day event. The Aggressive Response
At noon sharp on the third day there was finally a response. It was not what anyone hoped for and things escalated in the blink of an eye. Guards emerged from within the shrine and commanded everyone to disperse. They calmly stated their purpose and tried to start a peaceful conversation. The guards gave one final warning, but no one moved. Within minutes the group was attacked and eventually killed with no chance of being simply restrained. Only one elven man survived; he was one of the few citizens with protection capabilities. The loss and utter failure to save everyone devastated him.Uprising

Cool article. Those guards really need some training in not escalating things :p
Thank you! This era definitely had its issues and reform was most certainly needed. One of these days I'll get to writing out more of the history bits.
Yeah I know the feeling xp There is just so much in my head what happened in the world but it was never written in an article :p
