Seros City
Seros City is the capital of the Gadelina kingdom and is known for having an underwater portion of the city where its ruler, the merfolk Lady Vivianne Seros III, resides.
History
The capital of Gadelina was originally a city known as Miramont towards the middle of the region.
During the Second Age of War, King Randall Weiss of Gadelina worked with Vivianne Seros to help preserve his people against the Krendell kingdom and eventually signed the controversial Weiss-Seros Treaty to give control of Gadelina to Vivianne Seros. When she took over, the merfolk moved the capital from Miramont to the northern waterfront. This area was renamed Seros Cove and Vivianne had Seros City built near it, creating a large underwater sector for her merfolk and other allies to call home.
However, this new capital wasn't without its detractors. Randall's son and daughter Iroas and Kella, both refused to acknowledge Vivanne's rule, and moved to Redfinn Marsh partnering with a handful of Terrok's former supporters to make themselves an independent nation.
They raided merchant vessels and other travelers, and eventually, Vivianne was forced to intervene. She took a small group of magi to one of the islands and destroyed all the small villages and islanders upon it as a show of force, causing Iroas and Kella to eventually yield and form a peace treaty with Vivianne. This treaty gave the Weiss children ownership of Redfinn Marsh on the contingency that they do not show aggression towards anyone traveling through it that flies Gadelina's flag or has a lack of enmity.
As time has passed, Redfinn Marsh have kept up with this alliance, though they have become more and more aloof to communication from Gadelina and the mainland over time, and are now home to multiple clans of pirates and raiders that sail off to attack other ships in the North Sea that look to travel through the area.
To make matters worse, they have partnered with many members of The Five Families to help lobby for protections and a 'blind eye' from many government officials from both Gadelina and Soltus.
The latest ruler of the Seros line, Vivianne Seros III, has pledged that Redfinn Marsh will be taken care of during her time of rule, and has stated it as one of her top priorities.
