Dresna City
Dresna City is the capital of Aldastraza. The kingdom itself is known for the Serpentine Ridge, a large collection of spiraling mountains that cut through the area and Dresna City is notable for being built into the Dresna Pass, a large tunnel carved through the mountainside that connects the two sides. The city is highly populated with dwarves as it provides easy access to the Kastali Tunnels carved into the mountains.
History
Aldastraza's original capital was Yabritta, one of the first above ground dwarven cities. However, this capital was destroyed during the Age of Fire at the Battle of Stormblood. The destruction of this city, as well as many other territories of Aldastraza, was a significant blow to the kingdom, and during the First Age of War, they were quickly invaded by Gadelina. However, a large force of rebels was able to utilize the Serpentine Ridge as a tactical resource, and eventually wore down the Gadelians that traveled through it.
This prompted the signing of the Serpent Accords, which gave Aldrastraza back control of their territories in exchange for free, uncontested passage through the Serprentine Ridge forever for the Gadelians. With this treaty established, Aldastraza quickly started to rebuild their nation. During the Second Age of War, they joined the Eastern Coalition as a Gadelina ally in exchange for resources and eventually built the Dresna Pass, a giant tunnel that was carved through the Serpentine Ridge. Merchants and travelers set up trading posts and soon a loose community was founded as a safe haven for those journeying through the area.
Eventually, these communities were joined into one large city, and it was labeled Dresna City, becoming the new capital of the kingdom. A link to the Kastali Tunnels was found and access to it was also integrated into the city, making it a good connection point for spelunkers and historians exploring the tunnels.
