Nome (No-Mé)

Naturally Occurring Magical Essence or Nome for short.

Nome is found in everything in the world from the largest dragon to the smallest grain of sand. It is the energy that connects all things in the universe and is also what is used to create magical spells. When casting a spell you will tap into your Nome reserve or often just called your Reserve. Everything can hold a certain amount of Nome naturally and often never tap into the potential they have inside.

Use With Organic

Every person has a reserve of Nome they can access but some people are naturally stronger in their reserves than others. It has been noted the Faye often have a significantly larger reserve than humans. Little is known about how Demons interact with their reserve but from what has been observed with the half-bloods they seem to have stronger natural reserves.

Use With Non-Organic

All things have Nome this is a fact. Nome seems to naturally collect more in living things than non-living but any rock has some amount of Nome in it. This is the base premise of Runes and how they get their Nome for magic.

Reserve

When thinking of one's reserve most people picture a pool of Nome that they pull from but this is inaccurate. Recent findings from the Alchemy Guild and the Thinkers Guild has shed light on this more. Nome is in fact coursing throughout your body and your “reserve” his how well your body holds the Nome in. Some people lose almost all the nome that accumulates in their bodies while others seem to hold it all in. There is training that you can learn to strengthen your Nome Reserve and keep it from seeping.

Manifestation

To the few that can see Nome it is often described as lightly glowing mist. When someone or something holds an excess amount of Nome, it is said they may shine bright enough to hurt ones eyes.
They say that the flow of Nome can be seen in currents when someone is pulling nome in for a spell. Bright lines rush to the area of the spell, dulling the rest of the casters body.
