Once upon a time, they say, magic was everywhere and those who learned how to master it were greater than kings. These magicians considered themselves like to gods. Those who had no magical ability were treated no better than slaves. Then one day something happened. Every story says something different...the magicians reached to high, the true gods struck them down, sabotage, fighting from within, etc. Whatever the reason was the godlike magicians vanished from the world...as did most knowledge of magic.   Of course many claim this story is simply that...a story. There were no power mad magicians and what little magic does exist is all that has ever existed. Still the story and the remnants of magic effect the world millennia later...   From the sprawling Empire and its military might where deep in the temples a new order of powerful magicians may be secretly rising.   To the strange people of Anath whose inhospitable mountain home holds history dating back to the time of godlike magicians.   From the great eastern powers whose scholars dedicate their lives to uncovering the supposed secrets long ago lost while their explorers search the seas for any sign of the long dead magicians.   To an island in the middle of sea populated by pirates, thieves, and criminals of all sorts who all have strange stories to tell, the strangest of these being the ones that are actually true.
