Purpose / Function
The building was created as a small apartment block, but this wasn't received well by the citizens, who prefer their big properties, cosy homes and open air.
Tony who had been running a small bar at his brewery over the other side of town, saw an opportunity and refurbished the place into a pub and hotel, while leasing some of the larger apartments for small businesses.

Entries
The site is entered via the main entry point, which leads to the main bar area, with a little alcove further in that leads to the upstairs rooms.
A small secure door is located behind the bar, acting as an emergency exit point, while upstairs rooms are fitted with drop down metal ladders for their own emergency escapes. This does create some complications in that it could lead to customers letting others into the building, however this is rare, as the ladders are fitted with a breakable seal. If the ladder is lowered, it breaks this seal, and room rent agreements cover additional payments if this has been broken outside of emergency circumstances.

Sensory & Appearance
The room is only dimly lit, though additional lighting provides a clear path to the stairwell, lights up the bar and lights up the main stage.
The area is filled with the aroma of freshly cooked roast meat and vegetables, beer, wine and cider, and the smell of wood fire burning from the fireplace.
Performers play music from the stage during peak patronage, adding to the cacophony of voices while people talk amongst themselves or cheer. Chairs scrape on floors as people move around, feet tapping or stomping on the dancefloor, and the occasional noise from upstairs may come through, screams of pain or pleasure from bedroom activities, or the stick and poke tattooist taking up residence in one of the leased business rooms.

Alterations
On ground floor, what was originally some lower apartments and a foyer, have been redesigned. Walls removed to open up the space, with bars, kitchens and dining areas installed, stages for performers and even dance floors added.
Upper-level apartments were sectioned off, creating additional rooms for rent, while some larger rooms were left for premium visits, as well as some small businesses leasing the space.
Over the years Tony has done huge amounts of work to make the place more visually appealing, both inside and out, and has set a high standard for pubs around the world.

Defenses
Thieves are sometimes interested in stealing booze, and performers often leave their instruments etc. around, so wine cellars and band rooms are fitted with barred windows and strong door locks to prevent theft of valuables.
With drunken customers comes risk of boisterous behaviour, so a bouncer is employed during peak hours to help manage any unruly clientele and keep the peace.
The main concern for Tony though, is that he does very well from a financial perspective and people know it. He has had to install an incredibly secure safe in a room beside the cellar, with a deposit slot at the bar to allow quick drops when their registers are becoming full.
