In the Common Year 598 (CY 598), the world of Flanaess, has seen the great plague of the demigod Iuz unleashed upon the north. While the might of his kingdom developed over 100 years ago, he had vanished from the realm, rumored to be a prisoner magically locked away deep under the ruins below Greyhawk Castle until his unfortunate release about 25 years ago. Since then his chaotic evil humanoid hordes, previously content to struggle for local power among themselves, have now begun raids across the borders of the Kingdom of Furyondy itself. Among these more organized attacks are rumored to be not only the roaming tribes of the Tiger and Wolf nomads but even giants from Ice and snow barbarians of the Corusk Mountains. Reports of the disappearance of leaders of smaller fiefdoms, forests turning to dark woods and corruption of power of once previous allies continue to pour in to His Pious Majesty.
