The Central Dramari Wars

Land Greed

The Central Dramari wars are a series of conflicts lasting from 543 until 551 AS. The wars are mainly colonization wars, with Adiril and Yeltorn attempting to capture territory occupied by the former Tel-Harok protectorates, the Pikunas City-States.

The Collapse of Tel-Harok and the Pikunas

Tel-Harok fell after two invasions by Orcs from the sea. The King died, along with his heirs, and the capital city was taken and occupied by the self-proclaimed New Haroki Empire.
This left the Coalition of the Pikunas, a former Tel-Harok territory-turned-protectorate, vulnerable.
The Pikunas also fell into disarray, as the guiding hand that was the King of Tel-Harok was gone. The individual city-states that make up the Coalition began to turn on each-other. The city-states Carrassi and Diest Posis formed the Dual-Alliance, a secondary faction within the Coalition. They essentially operated as a seperate nation from the rest of the Pikunas, even invading a fellow coalition city-state in the Invasion of Talion in the year 545 AS. This war helped light a fuse which sent the rest of the continent into war.

A Joint Invasion

As the Invasion of Talion was being fought, the two Northernmost powers on the continent were coming up with an agreement to take land associated with the Pikunas. The Adirilians wanted Carrassi, the Yeltorni wanted Diest Posis. This agreement was made in early 546 AS, with an invasion occurring shortly afterward. The Conflict

Prelude

Rising tensions between the Kingdom of Adiril and the Nation of Yeltorn neared war, but in the 11th hour, the Consul of Yeltorn came to the King of Adiril with an offer. A joint incursion into the territory of the Pikunas City-States.
The fall of Tel-Harok meant that the Pikunas Coalition had been fighting civil wars for around half a decade a decade, with individual cities raising armies against one another over petty squabbles. The central, overarching government that administered the coalition as a whole had lost much of its credibility, and its seat, Marbedorm had been engaging in some of these internal conflicts.
Without Tel-Harok to mediate these conflicts or defend the Pikunas, and the city-states busy fighting each other, Yeltorn and Adiril invaded.

Deployment

Four Yeltornian Legions and auxiliaries from Coprezu moved South through a mountain pass into the Northern Savannah. These troops attacked and captured several small villages and towns within a month of the war beginning. After the First Battle of Brightcana Run - where the army of Diest Posis was destroyed - two Legions besieged Diest Posis.
Seven Regiments of Adirilian Soldiers were deployed from the border cities, Elmsford and Grimvalley. They, like their Yeltornian counterparts, captured much of the Norhern Savannah with relative ease. The Carrassi did put up a better fight than the Posites, however, and an entire Adirilian Regiment was lost during the Battle of the Teerik Plains. The Adirilians were able to counter the attack and continue moving Southward, besieging Carrassi.
The Northern City-States, without aid from their Southern Brethren, were caught surprised. The sudden invasion led to untrained and under-equipped troops defending the Pikunas with little success at the beginning of the War. The Carrassi were able to defend some of their lands relatively well, but the overwhelming force of the Adirilian and Yeltornian invasion was too much for even their military culture.

Outcome

The Yeltornian Capital, Coprezu, was briefly occupied by Elves from the Wood.
The City-State of Talion was razed and abandoned.
An Elvish force was settled in Kaltic Rush in Adiril.
Diest Posis lost its Ruling Council, being ruled instead by a Monarch for the first time since it was released from Tel-Harok.

In Adiril

This war is a stain of the reign of King Herra Shol II of Adiril. The King died the following year. The Adirilian people in Keraa revolted soon after the war, citing the bloodshed as unnecessary and wasteful. King Liam Shol III was able to put down this insurrection,
